Health & Safety Precautions

Consistent with how we’ve operated since opening our building last year, ArtYard continues to adjust our health and safety policies based on state and federal data and in alignment with the practices of art centers in the tri-state area to ensure the safest possible environment for our visitors, artists, staff, and the greater Frenchtown community.

ArtYard reserves the right to alter safety protocols at any time and at its sole discretion, including but not limited to vaccines, masks, venue capacity, and entrance requirements as it deems appropriate.

ArtYard will notify guests who purchase or reserve tickets at gatherings, performances, or other indoor events of the current requirements via an emailed reminder.

McDonnell Theater

All vaccine-eligible audience members attending events in the McDonnell Theater are required to wear masks and provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination, as well as valid identification. Audience members and visitors with a medical or religious exemption to vaccination should first contact ArtYard staff at 908.995.5018 before purchasing tickets. No concessions will be provided or available for sale, and no food or drink will be allowed into the theater.
We ask all visitors to keep their personal belongings with them at all times.

Gallery

Visitors to ArtYard’s exhibition space during open gallery hours (11 AM to 5 PM Wednesday through Sunday) are encouraged to wear masks and practice social distancing.

Hand Cleanliness

We have hand sanitizer dispensers throughout the building and encourage visitors to use hand sanitizer upon entry and exit.

Good Judgement

We ask all audiences, staff, and artists to monitor their health and stay home if they are exhibiting any Covid and/or flu-like symptoms. By entering ArtYard, you are agreeing that you are not sick and have not had direct contact with anyone who has a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the last 10 days or exhibits symptoms of COVID-19. It is essential that you do not visit if you are unwell.

Accessibility

ArtYard is committed to providing a welcoming experience to all who visit by offering services that make our programming as accessible as possible.

While information below provides a general overview of accessibility services, patrons are encouraged to call or email to address any specific questions or needs, 908-996-5018 or contact@artyard.org.

Patrons with limited mobility

ArtYard’s gallery and theater are wheelchair accessible via the main river-facing entrance, and all levels are accessible by elevator. We offer designated areas for wheelchair users who want to remain in their wheelchair, and for those who prefer to transfer to a theater seat. Van and designated accessible parking spaces are in the ArtYard parking areas.

Patrons who are blind or visually impaired

Braille signage is available throughout ArtYard, including elevators, restrooms, stairwells and emergency exits.

Patrons who are deaf or hard of hearing

We’re happy to provide assisted listening devices upon request. The FM system in the theater requires a special receiver for each person. Whether or not you wear a hearing aid, we offer under-the-chin headsets and neck loops for t-coil users.  We’ll ask for a driver’s license or credit card as a deposit.

Sign Language Interpretation

ASL Interpretation is available by request for certain performances with two weeks’ or more advance notice. Call 908-996-5018  Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM, or email tickets@artyard.org.

All restrooms are wheelchair accessible. Restrooms are located on both levels of ArtYard’s main facility. A wheelchair accessible, unisex restroom is available on the first floor next to the elevator lobby.
