Bailin’s work confronts the fragility, absurdity, and emotional weight of contemporary life. Working in charcoal and layers of erasure on paper, Bailin creates psychologically charged worlds where figures drift through collapsing landscapes, sinkholes, storms, and states of unraveling — images that feel at once deeply personal and unmistakably collective.

This special conversation offers a rare opportunity to hear from Bailin, whose work has been exhibited nationally and reviewed in publications including the Los Angeles Times and ARTnews, about the evolution of his practice and the emotional terrain behind these powerful works.
