Cassie Arnold

Cassie Arnold is a fiber artist whose work probes the unspoken, often taboo dimensions of womanhood and caregiving. Rooted in traditional techniques such as hand knitting, her practice challenges cultural narratives that seek to confine these identities, instead opening space for more expansive, honest representations. In recent years, she has incorporated performance-based and interactive elements, creating work in which her body, the material, and the audience converge. Through video and photography, she documents each piece from inception to completion, ensuring that process and story remain inseparable from the final work. Across her practice, Cassie invites viewers into a direct, unguarded dialogue about the realities of women’s bodies, labor, care, and lived experience.

She received her BFA in Visual Art Studies from the University of North Texas and has spent the past decade teaching in both private and public secondary schools. Her work has been widely exhibited in the United States and Europe, including Fiberart International, where she received First Prize, the Ashurst Art Prize and Mother Art Prize in London, the Birth Rites Collection at King’s College, and the Fantastic Fibers International Exhibition, among others. In 2025, she presented her debut solo exhibition, Mom Bras, at Bundaberg Art Gallery in Australia. Her work is currently included in Acts of Creation: On Art and Motherhood, a traveling exhibition curated by Hettie Judah and organized by Hayward Gallery Touring in the UK. Cassie’s work has been featured in international publications including SLEEK Magazine, Vogue Russia, Glamour Brazil, Maker’s Magazine, Friend of the Artist, and Fiber Art Now. She lives and works in Denton, Texas with her partner and their three children.
