May got off to a powerful start as we spent the weekend immersed in the story of Newark ark-builder Kea Tawana. Thank you to all who joined us for Kea & the Ark, the culminating performance of Sebastienne Mundheim’s residency. We are delighted to share that many of the stunning puppets and objects from the performance return soon along with video for an exhibition in our second-floor Laboratory Gallery.
This month we continue to offer opportunities for the community to experience the creative process as we host playtests for Where There’s Smoke. We are excited for Madison McFerrin’s nearly sold-out performance as well as the launch of Creative Movement with Michael Sazonov, which is also at capacity. Be sure to stop by to experience our current exhibitions before they close Sunday, May 21.
We invite you to save the dates for our summer programming, including a Summer Solstice Celebration, a first look at Company SBB’s newest work, and performances by Eilen Jewell and SYBARITE5.
We hope to see you soon!
