Sandra Dillon

Sandra is an artist, video editor, director, and performer. She brings to ArtYard her passion for all things creative, as well as a background in photography, film production, performance, and art.

Originally from Philadelphia, Sandra began her adventures at 17, moving to France to pursue her dream of studying art. She studied drawing at the Beaux-Arts and Fine Arts at Parsons Paris, where she received her BFA in painting, with a minor in photography. Her early career began as a photography assistant and stylist in New York City’s fashion industry, and after returning to Europe to live in Prague, she worked as a camera assistant on feature films, including Immortal Beloved and Mission: Impossible.

After many years living abroad and traveling throughout Europe, Sandra returned to New York to pursue graduate studies at the School of Visual Arts, where she earned an MFA in photography with a minor in video editing. She spent the following two decades working as a video editor, sound designer, and director, working on commercials, feature films, and TV shows for advertising agencies and post houses in the NYC and Philadelphia metro areas. A career highlight for her was working on the tour visuals for Roger Waters’ The Wall.

As a child, Sandra’s first love was dancing, singing, and theater, the latter a creative avenue that Sandra still enjoys, whether on stage or off. She is a professional voiceover artist and a SAG/Aftra union member. She also co-founded the comedic duo The Heavy Meddlers and performs at local art openings and festivals. Her obsession with costumes, special effects make-up, and mermaids led to attending decades worth of Coney Island Mermaid Parades and founding Frenchtown’s own Mer-folk March.

Shortly after arriving in Frenchtown, Sandra opened The Art Parlour Gallery, where she curated 16 art shows over two years, featuring hundreds of local and national artists. Sandra continues to paint and create art and enjoys restoring her Victorian home.
