Laura Hornby

Laura Hornby brings eight years of historic architecture supervision and 25 years of art and theater production experience to her role as the steward of the ArtYard campus facilities. A Design and Production graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, she has welded, button tufted, quilted, painted, sculpted, and bedazzled her way through hundreds of scenery pieces as a Properties Artisan at League of Resident Theatres, including Steppenwolf Theater, Actors Theater of Louisville, Utah Shakespeare Festival, and McCarter Theater.

Family and community brought her to her role as the caretaker of the historic Bucks County Playhouse and Lambertville Hall, which led to a COVID pandemic pivot to an opportunity outside of the arts as the caretaker of the Aldie Mansion in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.

Since moving to Hunterdon County in 1998, she has been passionate about participation and engagement in our small towns and rural communities. Watching ArtYard grow and thrive has been an inspiration, and Laura is thrilled to be able to return to a career in the arts in her own backyard.
