Jim Johnson

James (Jim) Johnson, a retired partner at Debevoise & Plimpton and a former Brennan Fellow, and senior advisor in the New Jersey governor’s office, is the Chief Operating Officer of Trinity Church Wall Street. Previously he served as Corporation Counsel for New York City, where he led the city’s law department. He served as Under Secretary of the United States Treasury among several senior government positions. He is a fellow at MIT’s Community Innovations Lab and a member of the board of the Academy of American Poets. Jim’s previous board service includes the Harvard Board of Overseers, the Montclair Art Museum, the Montclair Film Festival, Chair of the Board of the Brennan Center for Justice, and Vice Chair of The Citizens Campaign.

Jim and his wife Nancy Northup make their home in Lambertville, NJ.
