Samora Pinderhughes
Samora Pinderhughes is a composer, pianist/vocalist, interdisciplinary artist, and surrealist whose work delves into all the things our society tries to hide — about its history, about its structures, and about the individual and daily things we all experience but don’t know how to talk about. His art is an invitation to feel things deeply, and to think deeply about how we all live. He is known for his honest lyrics, his harmonic language, his vulnerable visuals, his sociopolitical commentary, and his commitment to making art that is of use to everyday life.
I Hope This Finds You Well
August 2025
Samora Pinderhughes will be in residence to develop I Hope This Finds You Well, a developing multidisciplinary music performance work which combines detailed compositional work with the participatory energy of a concert, the character-driven structure of theater, and the guiding principle of the chorus. The piece will amplify the testimonials of those harmed by incarceration, policing, and detention, imagining a world that supports vulnerability — an artistic celebration of resilience, repair, and resistance.
The residency culminates in a work-in-progress showing of I Hope This Finds You Well and is a partnership with Pomegrante Arts.
