Art performance with artist Rudy Shepherd on October 13th, at 7:30 PM.

As part of the exhibition related programming for ArtYard’s exhibition, The Unlikely Whole, artist Rudy Shepherd will present a performance called Healing Music for a Troubled World in ArtYard’s gallery where Shepherd’s sculptures, the Black Rock Negative Energy Absorbers are on display.

This will performance will include Shepherd (as the Healer) on midi controller, theremin and various noise-making objects, Brian Alfred on guitar, Rob Nadeau on keys, Ethan Meyer on drums and Christof Knoche on saxophone, performing healing music as the Black Rock Negative Energy Absorbers. This performance combines elements of jazz improvisation, experimental/noise music and performance art to create a type of séance in which the performers and viewers are lifted out of the current political moment and brought to a place of cathartic release.

The performance will be followed by a brief artist talk with Rudy Shepherd. To learn more about Shepherd’s work, you can visit: www.rudyshepherd.com

PLEASE NOTE: This will be a standing performance in ArtYard’s gallery. Limited assisted seating will be available.
