The ArtYard community is invited to register to join us this April and May to test components of an upcoming exhibition while its creators are in residence. The playtests are scheduled for April 6, 13, & 26 and May 17, 18, and 31. The May playtests will be held at the former restaurant space at ArtYard’s Workshop building, 62A Trenton Avenue.

We are currently looking for community members to register for playtests May 17, 18, and 31. Visit our Where There’s Smoke playtest registration page to get started.

In Where There’s Smoke, storytelling pioneer Lance Weiler unravels the secrets of his enigmatic father — a volunteer firefighter and amateur fire scene photographer — and two devastating fires that struck the Weiler family.

Where There’s Smoke will be in residence at ArtYard prior to its opening on June 17. Participants’ experiences and feedback will allow Lance to refine the immersive nature of the story.

This is a great opportunity to experience the workings of creating an exhibition. We encourage aspiring artists, students, and anyone curious about immersive theatre, interactive documentary, and emergent technology to register.
