Creative Movement for Older Adults is a workshop series designed to awaken the body and inspire the imagination through the joys and benefits of music and movement.
Join Michael as he leads participants through somatic movement, dance, and theatre exercises — accentuating improvisation, the spoken word, and the expressive body — sparking one’s creativity and inner joy. Open to all adults 55 and older, with special consideration given to those living with Parkinson’s and other neurological conditions.
The workshops take place at 11 AM Wednesdays from Jan. 3 to Feb. 21. A second session is Feb. 28 to April 17.
We recommend participants wear comfortable clothing and bring water. The series takes place on the McDonnell Theater stage. This workshop series is limited to 15 participants. No previous movement experience is necessary.
Michael Vitaly Sazonov is a teaching artist, performer, and theatre-maker who utilizes movement, music, and words to create theatre with a social impact. His classes foster a safe and creative environment for all participants, no matter their skill level, because they are rooted in a sense of play and exploration.
