Kaitlin Pomerantz

Kaitlin Pomerantz is an interdisciplinary artist and educator based in Philadelphia. Pomerantz works across mediums to pose questions about ecological relations, land use, power, and place. Current projects include Waterways, a collaborative socially engaged arts project focused on flooding and climate resilience, and VIRIDITAS, a print and papermaking series examining botanical motifs on US currency. Pomerantz is the founder of MATTERS, an arts learning initiative connecting art and design materials, labor, and land, which received Sachs Arts + Innovation funding in 2023 to run as a university course in partnership with RAIR, an arts residency in a waste management facility.

Pomerantz has recently shown work in exhibitions at Automat, PAFA, Practice Gallery, and John H. Baker Gallery, and has recently published writings in Turning Points (Teachers College Press, 2024) and Building Democratic Schools (Palgrave MacMillan, 2024). Pomerantz teaches at the University of Pennsylvania and the School of Visual Arts. Pomerantz was included in the ArtYard exhibition Invisible curated by Jill Kearney in 2022.
