ArtYard is 9! ArtYard quite literally hatched the morning of Sept. 4, 2016 at Riverfest (watch the behind-the-scenes in the video above). We can hardly believe how quick the time has passed and how grateful we are that you’re part of our community.
This fall, we hope you’ll join us for a season of brave new works by some of today’s most innovative and celebrated artists. First up, singer-songwriter Samora Pinderhughes takes the stage this weekend to share a developing new work you won’t want to miss. Playwright Peter Kim George will share a staged reading of his satirical and moving new play, Empire Liquor. “Leader for a new age of Americana” Lily Talmers performs a concert on Sept. 13.
We’re excited to celebrate the opening of a new exhibition, Lead Me out of here, from 5 to 7 PM on Thursday, Sept. 11. The exhibition features paintings made on clothes by Finnish artist Onerva Luoma, and get this — you can borrow the clothing! We have created our very own ArtYard Library Card for nearby visitors who’d like to don the designs for a special night out or just to grab a coffee with a friend in town. Come by to meet the artist!
If you haven’t experienced our summer exhibitions, make a trip soon! Brian House: Synchronizing Uncertainty closes Sept. 21. There’s plenty more fun this fall, including campus tours, Tiny Talks, the return of Creative Movement, and a Beginner Vogue Class with Day Day Juicy Couture.
We hope to see you soon!
