Ginny Perry is an artist and retired high school art educator from Erwinna, Pa. Ginny was an illustrator and graphic designer at the Philadelphia Inquirer for many years, taught Illustration at Hussian College of Art, and owned and taught at the Doylestown Art Center. She was on the teaching staff at Souderton Area High School for 23 years as an art educator and Art Department Coordinator.

An award-winning artist, she has displayed her work in many solo and juried shows, most recently at the Woodmere Art Museum, Abington Art Center, Stover Mill Gallery, the MFA Gallery, Tinicum Art Festival, Cerulean Arts Gallery, DaVinci Art Alliance, and Phillips Mill Annual Juried Show. She was featured in a profile on the intersection of her art and caregiving in the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Ginny is a volunteer Interfaith Lay Chaplain at Doylestown Hospital and a local nursing home facility, where she offers emotional and/or spiritual support to patients. This practice led her to create the body of artwork she’s producing today. Her artwork focuses on nursing home culture, hospice sare, and Alzheimer’s Disease, as well as the inspiring people she has met through this experience. Her images, created mainly in her home studio, are presented with visceral empathy and compassion, a visual depiction of the deep emotional connection she made with each patient. Ginny considers it a privilege and honor to be present for people and hear their life stories.

Also, an avid Delaware Canal explorer, she has created emotional visual interpretations of the canal. She especially has a fascination with Osage trees, which she has documented in numerous pieces. Ginny volunteers at Studio Route 29 and Artyard, both places she truly considers a “gift” to Frenchtown.
