Born in Stony Brook, N.Y., Catie Rogers is a teacher, artist, and researcher, though teaching is the primary craft to which Catie dedicates her time. Her practice within, between, and outside education stem from her investigations of relational aesthetics, fascination with posthumanist theory, and love for water.

Mirroring her classroom’s playful processes, her studio practice attempts to locate space, objects, and time for toying with and maneuvering within governance systems through collaboration, collecting, video, sound, spatial installations, and collage. Fundamental to the development of her work was the Art Education Graduate program at The City College of New York – CUNY, where she received her Master’s degree in spring 2023. Prior to this, Catie also completed her BFA in sculpture at SUNY Purchase.
