The new year is off to a wondrous start at ArtYard. We kicked off the Big Screen Wonders Film Festival on Saturday with a screening of Blade Runner and a live conversation with writer Hampton Fancher. Join us this month to revisit or discover these groundbreaking films that demand to be seen on a giant screen with stellar surround sound.
There are just 10 days left to experience Landscape and Hierarchies, an exhibition featuring new works by Alexandre Arrechea. Stop by during our gallery hours and new extended hours until 7 PM today and Thursday, Jan. 19.
We have four new exhibitions opening in February and March, including Paint, a solo exhibition featuring paintings by Michael Mangino curated by Studio Route 29.
You’re invited to attend a reception on Saturday, Feb. 18 celebrating the opening of three distinct exhibitions that are different approaches to finding beauty and engaging in creativity around unauthored objects hiding in plain sight.
Paul Bowen: Drift and Shoes, A Love Story are curated by Jill Kearney and As Is is curated by Benjamin Albucker and Margaret Parish. Be among the first to browse the galleries and hear from the curators. The exhibitions are on view through May 21, 2023.
The following day, join us for a guided tour of Drift led by the artist Paul Bowen. Drift features sculptures, drawings, and sketches Bowen made from discarded materials full of stories. The exhibition explores the artist’s process of finding and uncovering the beauty in waste material, broken things, and things that have had another life.
Studio Route 29 and ArtYard are pleased to present Paint, a solo exhibition of recent works by Michael Mangino. Curated by Studio Route 29, the exhibition will open Sunday, March 5 with a reception at ArtYard’s first-floor Little Gallery.
Mangino’s bodies of color hover on the page as sovereignties, surrounded always by a slight boundary of space, whole to themselves. Mangino is a student of Delaware Valley High School’s FIERCE Program. His devotion to painting became immediately clear when he arrived at Studio Route 29, and in short time he has created an impressive body of paintings.
Please note that our gallery will be closed Jan. 25 to Feb. 18 for the installation of our winter exhibitions. Our gallery hours of 11 AM to 5 PM on Wednesday through Sunday, with extended hours until 7 PM on Thursdays, resume on Sunday, Feb. 19.
